Riser

Installing a RiserThe riser is a cylindrical heavy-duty plastic that is cut to fit and then placed over the tank opening; then a cover is placed on the riser.  This will bring the cover of the tank nearer to the surface, which prevents having to dig any deeper than 6” when servicing the septic tank.  This is important for ease of access in case of emergencies, especially in the winter months when the ground freezes.  A riser also saves the digging of a large hole every time your septic system is serviced.

ccls®

ccls additive

$95.00 + tax

FOR SEPTIC TANKS AND CESSPOOLS: If septic tanks and cesspools are not properly maintained, they will fill up with solids, they will clog the soil absorption areas, they will contaminate the soil and they will become health hazards and a burdensome expense. Apply ccls at least monthly in the home to maintain bacterial balance in the septic tank or cesspool. Older, overtaxed, or neglected systems may require a shock dosage to create a high bacterial level.

FOR DRAINS AND PIPES: Apply ccls according the label instructions to eliminate buildup in waste lines. ccls will remove organic solids from interior surfaces of pipes and will eliminate odors in drains. ccls is safe for use in garbage disposals. Use on a regular basis to avoid buildup and odors.

FOR ODOR CONTROL: Dab ccls full-strength or spray ccls full-strength on affected areas. Effective on pet odors, garbage bins, diaper pails, and other areas of organic odors. Works fast enough to use as needed.

HOUSEHOLD USES FOR ccls…

ccls is completely safe to store and use in the home, and it won’t harm animals or humans when used according to directions. For more information on ccls®, visit Cape Cod Biochemical’s website at www.septiconline.com.

Filtrol® 160 Washing Machine Filter

Filtrol 160

$130.00 + tax (free shipping)

When a good septic system fails, the cause is more often the soil, not the tank. The soil fails because it won't allow liquid to pass through it. In most cases, the soil fails when it gets plugged with solids. One of the best ways to prevent solids from plugging the soil is by using filters. Washing machines are a leading source of the solids that plug drain fields. A typical family discharges enough lint every year to carpet a living room floor! Lint screens and nylon socks trap less than 5% of these contaminates. These minute particles, because they are so small and light, do not settle in the septic tank. Rather, they stay in suspension and are flushed out to the drain field where they actually plug up the pores of the soil bed. To compound the problem, much of our clothing and carpeting is now manufactured with synthetics, polyester, nylon, etc. Septic systems do not break down plastics! Once these non-organic materials enter the drain field, there is no way to remove them. With the cost to replace a septic system running $5,000 to more than $20,000, the FILTROL® 160 is very inexpensive insurance to protect your wallet and your property.

"The Washing Machine Filter is working great. It has significantly reduced the problems we were having with lint in our underground plumbing line.Thank you!"

We all know that here are certain things that you should not put in a spetic system. Fluffy the Bear, toy soldiers, Legos, and certain feminine hygiene products. What I didn't know until I worked with Buddy at Pump Grump is that you also should have a filter on your washing machine, as it can be a major pollutant to a septic system.
Like most people, my primary asset is my home. When you go to sell your home you don't need to loose $50,000 to $60,000 putting in a new septic system because your system does not adhere to Title V regualtions. Constant servicing of your septic system and working with professionals at the Pump Grump will truly make your septic system smile.
